Hexyz Force is a role-playing video game developed by Sting Entertainment and published by Atlus for the PlayStation Portable in 2009. It was released in Japan on November 12, 2009 and in North America on May 25, 2010.

Gameplay:
The player progresses by traveling through Fields, fighting enemies in random encounters along the way. For every battle won the player earns Force Points (FP), which can be used for various purposes including upgrading Ragnafacts (sacred weapons), creating Forcefacts (sacred armor) and restoring the party mid-dungeon. Items and equipment too require FP to create, and cannot be bought in a shop.
Some items can be created by fusing them with the right material items, which are harvested from Harvest Points found within a Field. The Harvest Points will regenerate after the player has fought roughly 3-5 battles, spawning items ranging from common to rare. Hidden treasures and secret events can be unveiled by interacting with non-playable characters, other items can be unlocked by progressing through the story.
Hexyz Force employs a dual protagonist system, which enables the game's world and story to be portrayed through both characters' perspectives.

Plot:
Long ago, Norvia, the Goddess of Creation, descended from the heavens. Using the Holy Vessel, a divine chalice charged with all Force (the spiritual energy in the universe), she created life and the Divinities, shepherds of existence. After some time, Delgaia, the God of Destruction, brought about a great calamity known as the Gods' Remorse. He intended to return all Force to the Holy Vessel, returning Berge to the void. The Divinities sacrificed themselves to defeat Delgaia, delivering Berge from doom and sealing the God of Destruction away deep within the earth.
As Berge lay in ruin, a result of its bitter war, Norvia made a covenant. She would restore Berge to its former beauty on one condition. An Hour of Judgment would eventually come to pass, then the world would have to decide its ultimate path: creation or destruction.
The game revolves around two main protagonists: Cecilia, a young cleric from the Holy Temple of Palfina, and Levant, a Member of the elite Cerulean Knight of Rosenbaum Kingdom. Cecilia's mission is to find all the Monoliths scattered all around Berge, while Levant's mission is to find the culprit behind the war between Halbmenschen (half-Humans) and Humans. Both travel their separate ways though they cross paths on their journeys.

Main Characters

Levant von Schweitzer is one of the two main protagonists in Hexyz Force. He is the Hexyz who wields the Holy Sword Krauvando and inherits the force of Argent, the Pillar of Crimson Lotus and became one of the Three Divine Pillars. He is often called Leon by Irene, Emperor Axel and Bahn.
Personality:
Levant is a noble and trustworthy knight. He is friendly but sometimes cautious. He is a proud swordsman before he left the Rosenbaum Empire. His majesty, Axel's wish for co-existence with the Halbmenschen (non-humans) drove him to build up his own views for peace between races.
Character Statue:
Levant has some of the most balanced stats in the game, while being the most adaptive to wield most Ragnafacts. With Krauvando and his final Burst, he is great for taking on bosses with his multi-hit moves.

Cecilia Armaclite is one of the two main protagonists in Hexyz Force. She is the Hexyz who have inherited the force of Palfina the Bringer of Bounty, and became on of the Three Divine Pillars.

Personality:
Cecilia was a lazy cleric from the Holy Temple of Palfina. Though she serves the respected Great Temple of Palfina, she often puts off her duties. She's been known to lounge around eating and sleeping instead. But these all changed during her quest to find the Monoliths.
Character Status:
Cecilia makes a decent White Mage type. Although her Force stats isn't nearly as high as Luffina's, Cecilia compensates for her slightly-high defense, meaning she's more endurable while being a capable target. Her affinity lies with the Pearl Light aspect, wielding the most White ragnafacts.

Griek is a Hexyz who inherited the Force of Grepes the Red-Bearded. He is a proud warrior of the Lygar Race, and captain of the Argent resistance.
Personality:
Griek is a fierce and incredibly strong Lygar warrior. He is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. Griek's greatest loves are battle, and the Lygar concoction known as lygarwasser. While he as his own race despise the humans, he has an understanding side to listen when Levant and Irene joins their side.
Character Status:
Griek is the slowest character in the game, but boasts the best strength and defense, and probably the most adaptive of wielding most Ragnafacts. His Berserk Burst make him the best when it comes to wiping out enemies in general.

Irene von Rosenbaum is a Hexyz who inherited the Force of Verse of the Healing Light and one of Levant von Schweitzer's party members in Hexyz Force. She is the first princess of the Rosenbaum empire and the little sister of Axel.
Personality:
Being of noble birth, Irene can sometimes be demanding. She is also compassionate and cares a lot for Levant after their childhood experience stimulated the events of Levant's dark Forced-self.
Character Status:
Irene is built for using Skills in battle; many of her fencing attacks with Shinecrail focus on taking on columns of foes with the White aspects. With extremely high dexterity, she has the best accuracy when it comes to hitting flying enemies, outside of spellcasting.

Ciel is a Hexyz who inherited the force of Ellge the Loving and wielded the ragnafact Luftshetelune, and one of Levant von Schweitzer's party members in Hexyz Force. She was an Elf warrior who once lived quietly in Elven Forest. She is also Natulle's younger sister.
Personality:
Ciel is a timid Elf warrior who lives in the Spirit Forest, and the guardian of its Monolith. Because she’s an Elf she’s actually older than she looks. While she is painfully shy in social situations, she is a very skilled archer on the battlefield although she hates the sight of blood.
Character Status:
While Ciel lacks in strength and defense, is remedied for being the most agile and accurate hitter in the game.

Axel Faulken Von Rosenbaum is the young emperor of the Rosenbaum Empire. He wields the Ragnafacts of Illnada (Holy Bluebeide), the divine Pillar of the Cerulean Flame.
He is a remarkable leader of the humans for his ideals of peace and co-existence amongst the other races is highly envisioned by Bahn and Levant that he promoted to the ranks of  Cerulean Knights.
Status:
The only real advantage to Axel is that he is the only character to retain his levels through every playthrough. Axel is a high-powered party member for when you level him up to 99 in the first play through, saving effort for when reaching the Upper Floors in the next run.

Bahn Lehving is one of the Cerulean Knights and Levant's best friend, before being branded a traitor. Born as a commoner, he enlisted into the Rosenbaum Knights, where he eventually rose to the ranks of the Cerulean Knights, trustworthy knights by the Emeperor's side
During the raid of Gultchfort, he ends up being killed by Levant. He was later revived by Faust as his underling puppet to face off the gathered Hexyzs in a final confrontation. After he was defeated, Bahn managed to regain back his senses, and sacrificng himself for Levant and the others to go after Faust and Axel. While Bahn's death remains off-screen, his Dark Revalens remains beside the throne until Levant returns and wields it in his honor.

Azul is one of the main villains against the Hexyzs, being the main antagonist on Cecilia's side.
Personality:
Being sadistic and sarcastic, he constantly belittles the heroes and confesses to enjoying causing their loved ones pain.
Even though he and Philia are extremely intelligent (having out-smarted Norvia and Delgaia once), they act very childishly when under stress.

Faust Schnizer is one of the main villains on Levant's side of Hexyz Force, and a major antagonist ot the whole story.
Personality:
According to his profile, Faust is to be considered as the Empire's most brilliant mide. But underneath, he can be very sadistic and insane, as he contains no little regard about lives when he doesn't hesitate to use others for his evil experiments. This is shown when Luffina was kidnapped and brainwahed to do his bidding, and later revealed during Natulle's actions as Velvet, with Axen unaware of the latter.

Gardner Brant is the guardian and master of the Gemini siblings. He plays the support role for the heroes, and used to work with Faust Schnizer before he submerged to the dark forces.

Norvia is as by name the goddess of all the good force in the Hexyz Force universe. She created the World of Berge through the Holy Vessel, and observes judgement from the force around all life. She lies within the Holy Lambent above the Tower Of Judgement, when the times comes.
